Welcome to my practice. I am a licensed clinical psychologist, experienced in working with adults, older adolescents, and couples. Over the years of my work and training, I have developed several areas of special interest:
Mood and Anxiety Disorders
- Depression and bipolar disorder
- Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Panic disorder, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, phobias
Reproductive Health Issues
- Pregnancy Loss and Pregnancy Complications
- Infertility- Related Distress
- Mood and Anxiety Disorders during Pregnancy and Postpartum
- Premenstrual Mood Disorders
- Menopausal Transition
I enjoy working with people who are navigating life's transitions and want help as they work to understand the impact of their experiences on themselves and their relationships. There are many transitions we might face that offer an opportunity for reflection: from college to work, from one career path to another, from being single to involvement in a relationship or the reverse, from health to illness or injury, from partnerhood to parenthood, to name just a few that are possible. Each person's unique history and life situation will define their transition. Some transitions can feel much more like crises than opportunities. These are the ones that are often accompanied by feelings of anxiety, worry, grief, depression, hopelessness, or anger. Our goal in therapy might be helping you successfully negotiate the crisis. At other times, therapy may also turn in the direction of using the crisis to understand and develop your sense of self, improve your relationships, revisit your goals and life direction, and revitalize your sense of purpose and capacity for joy.
